if you don’t think this carries an important message about our society then you are what is wrong with human society today
And this is why when you see a post empowering and uplifting black women, do not invade it with “don’t you mean all women.” No, because this is not the reality of “all women.”
This breaks my heart. I spent so many years thinking I was ugly because of the color of my skin. So many nights were spent praying to God for him to make me beautiful like all of my white friends. It took me until I was almost 20 years old to finally realize my beauty and worth. I wish I could go back and tell 8 year old me that I was just as beautiful and smart and talented as all of my white friends and that I had no reason to feel inferior to them.
